Price monitoring proxies
Price monitoring opens the same product pages on a timetable and records what changed. StarProxy datacenter IPs are billed by IP count alone, so adding checks leaves the monthly bill where it was.
Why datacenter IPs fit
Datacenter IPs sit on server networks, so they answer fast and cost little. 5~99 IPs are $0.14 per IP a month, 100~499 are $0.12 and 500 or more are $0.10.
One price check is a single page load or API call. Repeat that all day and the bill still follows only the number of IPs.
Working out the IP count
Divide your daily checks by how many each IP should handle. 40,000 checks a day at 800 per IP is 50 IPs, which costs $7.00 a month.
For bigger catalogs, Rocket (100 IPs) is $12.00 a month and Station (500 IPs) is $50.00. Buying 3, 6 or 12 months takes 3%, 6% or 10% off the rate.
Comparing prices across countries
Datacenter IPs come in 18 countries, chosen at purchase. Open a store from a German IP and it shows the page German visitors get.
Many stores change currency, tax and shipping by visitor location. Opening from the same country every time keeps yesterday's price comparable with today's.
When a store blocks datacenter IPs
Move just that store to residential GB. Requests leave from home connection IPs and only the data you use comes off your GB. Product pages are light, so Spark (25 GB, $9.00) lasts a long time.
Residential GB never expire. Keep them for the few strict stores and leave the rest of the list on datacenter IPs.
Setting up StarProxy for Price monitoring
1
Top up your balance in crypto in the payment window. The minimum top-up is $25.
2
Under datacenter, pick Probe, Rocket, Station or Fleet, or enter a custom count from 5~5,000. Then set the country and period (1, 3, 6 or 12 months).
3
Add -zone-dc to the username. Traffic exits from IPs in the country you bought, so you see that country's prices.
4
Have your price checker connect through gate.starproxy.shop:6100 on its timetable and save every result.
Common questions
Is it fine to collect public prices?
Reading prices any shopper can see is common in many countries. Still follow the site's terms and keep the request rate low.
Can I connect over SOCKS5?
Yes. SOCKS5 is on port 6200, and HTTP and HTTPS are on port 6100.
Can my server connect without a password?
Register up to 10 server IPv4 addresses under Allowed IPs in the dashboard. Registered servers connect without the proxy password.
Can I mix in residential?
Yes. Both are bought from the same balance. Change -zone-dc to -zone-res in the username and traffic goes out as residential.
Top up $25, get 69 GB of residential traffic
Pick a username and a password and you are in. Your balance never expires.
