Proxies for SEO rank tracking

A keyword ranks differently depending on where the search happens. What you see from the office is your own neighborhood's result. With StarProxy residential IPs, your rank tracker searches from the country and city you choose.

Why rankings change by location

Search engines adjust results to the searcher's country, language and nearby businesses. A local service keyword can sit third in one city and on page two in the next.

Only a search from a residential IP in that city returns what locals see. Judge local SEO by that number.

Setting up city tracking

Put the country and city in the username, for example -cc-ca-city-toronto or -cc-jp-city-osaka. Searches then go out from a residential IP in that area.

In your tracker, list keyword and city pairs and give each pair its own username. Changing areas later means editing only the username.

Check frequency and GB use

Once a day covers most keywords. Rankings rarely move much within hours, and a daily run keeps GB use low.

For a week after a site move or a new page launch, check key terms several times a day. On per GB billing, you pay only for the extra data that week.

Rotate or hold the IP?

Rotate. Each search is a single request, so a fresh IP every time spreads the load by itself. Leave out -sid and the gateway handles it.

Hold the IP briefly only when paging through several result pages for one keyword. A -ttl- of 3~5 minutes ends the session about when that keyword is done.

Setting up StarProxy for SEO rank tracking

  1. 1

Top up your StarProxy balance in crypto through the payment window.

  2. 2

Start with 10 GB of residential ($3.90, $0.39 per GB) and measure a week of use. If it runs short, move up to Spark (25 GB, $9.00) or Glow (100 GB, $33.00).

  3. 3

Create one username per area, such as spexample1-zone-res-cc-de-city-munich.

  4. 4

Connect your rank tracker to gate.starproxy.shop:6100 and set city rankings side by side in your reports.

Common questions

How many countries can I track?

Residential IPs cover 60 countries. Many of them also support city selection.

Can I add it to the rank tracker I already use?

Any program that accepts an HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy with username and password authentication works. HTTP is port 6100 and SOCKS5 is port 6200.

I get results from another country.

Check that the country code after -cc- is two lowercase letters and spelled correctly. With a typo, the connection does not reach the country you meant.

Can several client projects share GB?

Yes. Give each project its own username options, and GB come off the same pool.
